THE CUSTOMER’S ADVOCATE
ON NATURAL GAS ISSUES
Stand Energy Corporation (SEC) is a privately
held corporation formed in 1984 and headquartered in Cincinnati,
Ohio. Judith A. Phillips and Matth Toebben founded SEC in response
to deregulation in the natural gas industry that allowed marketing
of natural gas and related volume management services to industrial
and commercial consumers. SEC's founders continue to be active
in the company.
SEC initially concentrated on large multi-location
industrial customers. Over time, the focus of operations has
broadened to include all size industrial customers and larger
commercial customers. SEC has also participated in several choice
programs for residential and small commercial customers.
In addition to natural gas marketing and related
volume management services, SEC has constructed several utility
by-pass pipelines with direct interstate pipeline connections
for customers. For other customers, SEC has designed and built
propane alternate fuel installations to take advantage of reduced
gas rates for interruptible service.
